E-DEBATE COMPETITION

A European online debate competition was launched this month between 16 teams of young people from the four countries - Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Germany, which is a continuation of the already published video interviews within the project. It will continue until mid-June 2019. Debates focus on key EU topics such as the Future of the EU, Euroscepticism and the European elections in 2019.

The debate competition follows a classic Karl Popper approach with teams of two supporting/not supporting preliminary given topic. The teams have 24 hours to debate on the topic, where the responses are judged by jury. The winning team from a particular debate advances in next round – all 4 for the competition. Winners of the competition will receive the chance to be special guests in Bucharest for the final conference of the project and present their ideas in a special panel dedicated to the democratic participation of citizens in EU, along with experts from other European countries.
