Prostitution and Sexual Exploitation

RiskMonitor and the National Commission for Combating Trafficking will outline sexual exploitation practices at a conference named “Prostitution and Sexual Exploitation”. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010, in “Iztok” Hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. It is organized in the frame of project PO3-21-00 "Sexual Exploitation in Bulgaria: Myths and Reality” financed by the NGO Fund in Bulgaria through the EEA Financial Mechanism.

The participants will address issues related to the sexual exploitation in Bulgaria and the criminal activities tied to it. Experts from RiskMonitor and other key institutions will discuss the public reaction to the phenomenon and will further review sexual exploitation as a form of violation of human rights. The event will be opened by Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings; Mr. Anastas Anastasov, National Assembly Deputy Chairman and Her Excellency Tove Skarstein, Аmbassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Bulgaria.
