INTEGRA DAY Brussels

On the 11th of June at the European Committee of the Regions the achievements of the Integra project were presented to an international audience.
All project partners from Bulgaria, Italy, Slovakia, Croatia and the Czech Republic showcased the activities, the methodologies used, resources and creative tools produced as part of the project so far, which goal is to is to help the process of long-term integration of third country nationals in the aforementioned countries. After presenting the policy recommendations the project partners emphasized on the main strength of the project: broad citizen participation and co-creation of integration policies.
Laurent Aujean, Policy Officer at Legal Migration and Integration Unit of DG Home, pointed out as project added value its perspective of the local context and history. Central and Eastern Europe attract different types of migrants – from Ukraine, from the former Soviet countries – that require special measures of integration. He also expressed his appreciation of INTEGRA policy recommendations that go beyond the typical ones regarding access to the labour market.
