SANS Should Remain an Intelligence Institution

Operating about a year and a half SANS has not yet managed to justify its existence, says RiskMonitor’s Executive Director Stefan Popov in an interview for 24 Chasa newspaper. The attempt to create a public image of The Agency as an institution specialized in fighting organized crime and high level political corruption has failed. In order to become effective, The Agency should remain an intelligence institution integrating in itself counter-intelligence, military counter-intelligence and financial intelligence. It is too early to say, however, whether The Agency is capable of fighting organized crime and corruption.
