Monitoring the State Agency for National Security (2009)

26.01.2009

(2009-2010)

The project continues the monitoring of SANS carried out in 2008. In this second stage the monitoring responds to heightened public expectations of effectiveness of that institution and gradual coping with organized crime and high level institutional corruption. The monitoring covers: (1) the Agency’s legislative mandate, its fulfillment, the defining of its key priorities in the sphere of national security; (2) the public perceptions of the mission of SANS; (3) the application of legislative mechanisms for exercise of democratic control over its activities.
