On April 15 and 16, 2014, RiskMonitor Foundation and Sofia Development Association organized two roundtable discussions in Sofia Municipality in the framework of the project "Non-repressive model to reduce corruption at municipal level". Participants in the discussions were municipal councilors, members of three standing committees of the Municipality: Commission onEthics,Citizens‘ Rights, Claims and Complaints,Commission on Prevention and Disclosure of Conflict of Interests and Commission on Local Self-Governance and Regulations.
The discussions focused on the results of the public opinion survey and the most important problems faced by citizens and business as users of municipal services. The project team presented a practical guide to ethical standards and behavior elaborated under the project. The discussion focused also on the set of indicators for management of corruption risks, proposed by the international project team, and the methodology for internal institutional monitoring of the Мunicipality in order to prevent corruption.
The round tables were organized with the financial support of the Prevention of and Fight against Crime Programme of the European Union (DG Home Affairs).
