Strengthening Civil SOciety Capacity in Albania to Fight Corruption on Local Level

The new project CIVILISC of the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and RiskMonitor Foundation (RM), Bulgaria was launched at a press conference in Tirana on Jan. 29, 2016.
CIVILISC – Civil Society Instruments Against Corruption, a 3-year project, will be implemented by IDM and RiskMonitor in 20 remote municipalities in Albania: Klos, Memaliaj, Ura Vajgurore, Cerrik, Gramsh, Divjake, Tepelene, Libohove, Devoll, Selenice, Perrenjas, Librazhd, Maliq, Lushnje, Shijak, Belsh, Vore, Bulqize, Vau I Dejes, Has. The project will strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations as well as networks among CSOs in Albania as effective and accountable actors, working to increase good governance and integrity of the public and civil sectors. The project activities include: assessment/monitoring of current legislation, mechanisms for fight against corruption and the level of Civil Society engagement; trainings with CSOs representatives; sub-granting initiatives on good governance, fight against corruption; assistance for CSOs, study visits and networking.
CIVILISC is co-funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, under the IPA 2014/2015 Civil Society Facility – Civic Initiative and Capacity Building, National Programme for Albania.
