Мonitoring of the State Agency for National Security (2010)

This report reflects the third edition of the monitoring on the State Agency for National Security (SANS), conducted by RiskMonitor Foundation. The main purpose of the expert team was to describe the development of the Agency in three main areas: its institutional image, the public perception of the activities, and the parliamentary control over the Agency.

In 2010, SANS developed as an intelligence service leaving the alien police and investigative features of the period of its establishment. The Agency improved the accountability by submitting annual reports on its activities, thus creating a precedent in the practice of intelligence agencies.
